Overview:
Development Charges are funds collected from development to help municipalities pay for new infrastructure. The Development Charges Act was recently amended to allow for the recovery of some Waste Management capital costs. This webinar will walk you through how development charges are established for the Region of Waterloo’s waste management services, which costs can be included and which are excluded and the financial impact on the Region.

Cathy Deschamps is the Director of Financial Services and Development Financing at the Region of Waterloo. Cathy is a Charted Professional Accountant and has more than 20 years of experience in municipal government finance and she has a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from McGill University.
