Nicole Willett  Elected Chair of OWMA’s Board of Directors

The Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) is pleased to announce the election of Nicole Willett as Chair of the Board of Directors. Ms. Willett was elected to a two-year term commencing March 4, 2021.

As Chair, Ms. Willett will guide the Ontario Waste Management Association’s strategic mission to provide value-added advocacy, information and research services to its private and public sector members, and enhance Ontario’s prosperity by promoting economically competitive and environmentally sustainable waste management solutions and public policies.

With over 20 years’ experience in Canada and the United States in the waste management sector, Ms. Willett currently serves as Director, Public Sector Sales and Government Affairs with Waste Management (Eastern Canada) where she leads the Government Affairs and Public Sector teams.  Prior to her current role at Waste Management, Ms. Willett served at Allied Waste Industries (now Republic Services) in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ms. Willett was the recipient of Waste 360’s 40 under 40 Award in 2018.

Ms. Willett has served as a Director on OWMA’s Board since 2016, and has served as Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee, as well as a member on OWMA’s Landfill Caucus Committee, the Governance & Leadership Committee, the OWMA Blue Box Transition Group; and the Membership Value & Services Super Committee. She also played a key role in developing OWMA’s successful Mentorship Program for young professionals seeking to grow their careers in Ontario’s $2.8 billion waste sector.

OWMA would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Denis Goulet, President of Miller Waste Systems, who has served as Chair of the association since January 2019.
