Attorney General Doug Downey introduced Bill 218, the Supporting Ontario’s Recovery Act, 2020. If the bill passes, it will provide liability protection for workers, that make a “good faith effort” to follow public health guidelines and laws relating to the exposure of COVID-19 retroactive to March 17, 2020. The measures proposed in Bill 218 will not prevent lawsuits against those individuals or organizations who willfully, or through “gross negligence” put individuals at risk
